The surroundings of Debrecen is extremely well-known of its natural products that are free from synthetic substances and pesticides. These natural food products are made under special inspection and classification.

Organic farming can be found to a considerably extent in the surroundings of Debrecen, especially in Balmazújváros (green pepper, tomatoes, onions, garlic, eggplant, zucchini, broccoli and lettuce growing) as well as in Hortobágy (grey cattle breeding).
