In Debrecen between 1478 and 1720 the postal services were carried out by butchers, though from the second half of the 17th century the town already employed a postmaster, and from the end of the 17th century there was an active royal post office here. Sámual Diószegi – not identical with the well-known botanist – organized the first post office in Debrecen in his own house. At the exhibition we can learn about the history of the post and telecommunication. The curiosity of the exhibition is the 225 000 piece philately collection of Dr. Rezső Soó, twotime Kossuth Prize winner botanist, academic, given to the city, entrusted to the Stamp Museum, as well as the diorama showing the old postal house. The Stagecoach Exhibition is located exactly opposite the building of the Déri Museum.

Opening hours: Monday and Friday off, other days visitors are accepted between 11.00 and 17.00.

Closed: 1st January, 1st November, and 24th, 25th and 26th December.
