Apart from the numerous cultural experiences and enjoying the local culinary art visitors who go to the local shops and shopping malls for window-shopping or shopping can leave for home with pleasant experiences and full bags. In the main street of our town and in the pleasant back-street in the city centre there are a continuous line of clothes’ shops, jeweller’s and souvenir shops, bookshops, drugstores, perfumeries where apart from products at reasonable prices more expensive high quality goods and internationally known items are sold.

In addition to the smaller shops the shopping malls are ideal places for shopping among which Halköz Shopping Mall, Debrecen Plaza, Malompark Shopping Malls, and Debrecen Forum (to be inaugurated soon) can be found in the city centre. Along the roads leading out of the town hypermarkets, wholesalers await customers.

Visitors who long for a rest and relax after shopping can spend pleasant hours in Nagyerdő known as the lung of the town. In the Aquaticum Spa and Bath Centre a thermal spa, a swimming-pool, a sauna, a Mediterranean style spa and wellness corner await visitors. In the city centre cinemas can be found, among others Apollo showing art films and Cinema City showing mostly American blockbusters await the lovers of cinema. In the evening visitors can relax at nightclubs, clubs, pubs or taverns.
