The Debrecen Erdőspuszták are situated in a semi-circle approximately ten kilometres East of the city. The one-time valley lily covered oak-woods are scarcely to be found today. The diversified flora ensured the development and life conditions of the also diverse fauna. For those arriving for a short visit, the most remarkable experience is the abundance of the avifauna, however the wild-boar, deer, hare and fox are also common in this area.

At the Erdőspuszta Exhibition House in Bánk exhibitions entitled the Flora, Fauna, Avifauna and Small Mammal fauna of the Erdőspuszták, and Life at the Erdőspuszták await the visitors. A natural trail in the arboretum behind the exhibition house introduces the native fauna of the region. Among the Norway pines rarities are the observation tower and “vacant’s farm”, which shows the dwellings and everyday lives of the “vacants” living on arboriculture.
