There are several amateur folk dance ensembles in Hajdú-Bihar County. Debrecen became the centre of folk dance in the fifties when Debrecen Folk Dance Ensemble was established that has had a great success in its performances both in Hungary and abroad. Later several other folk dance groups were also founded. Debrecen Hajdú Folk Dance Group also has had several performances all over the world,and they take great pride in being awarded with Europe Award in Folk Art and Herder Award. Apart from these two folkdance groups, Főnix Children and Youth Folk Dance Ensemble, Forgórózsa Dance Ensemble, Hortobágy Folk Dance Group or Bocskai Folk Dance Ensemble in Hajdúböszörmény are also renowned.
